Paul Lynch

Paul Lynch established Lynch & Company in 1988 and for the past twenty years has practised in the Brisbane CBD.

Mr Lynch has been awarded the undergraduate degrees of Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Laws from the University of Queensland.

He also holds two postgraduate law degrees: a Bachelor of Civil Laws from the University of Queensland and a Master of Laws from the Queensland University of Technology.

Mr Lynch is a former part-time member of the academic staff of the Faculty of Law at the Queensland University of Technology in the Master of Laws by coursework postgraduate program offered by QUT.

In the course of these duties Mr Lynch designed and lectured three new postgraduate coursework subjects at the QUT Law School: The Law of Costs, Representative Actions and Liquor Law & Practice.

Additionally Mr Lynch has been widely published in academic journals throughout Australia on a range of legal topics including securities, practice and procedure, liquor law and insolvency.

He is the author of Liquor Licensing Law & Practice (looseleaf, Law Book Co.) and numerous articles in the Australian Bar Review, Companies and Securities Law Journal, National Law Review, Queensland Law Society Journal, Insolvency Law Journal and Proctor.

Mr Lynch is currently completing a Master of Business Administration degree at the UQ Business School.

He maintains a keen interest in law reform and his contributions to legal reform have been recognized by former Attorney-General, Matt Foley in Hansard.

Mr Lynch’s professional experience has been focused on the resolution of complex civil litigation and commercial disputes including banking litigation, foreign currency loan litigation, franchising disputes, bankruptcy and insolvency, ACCC litigation and managed investment litigation.

He has principally practiced in the Federal, Supreme and District Courts but has experience in all jurisdictions.

Bill Morgan

Bill Morgan started his legal career in 1992 as a law clerk with Lynch & Company Solicitors , a specialist litigation firm.  In 1993, he started 5 years articles of clerkship and was admitted in 1998 as a solicitor in Queensland.

Mr Morgan has been awarded the undergraduate degrees of Bachelor of Arts from the University of Queensland and Bachelor of Laws form the Queensland University of Technology.

He is the author of several articles and case reviews in the Insolvency Law Journal.

From 2000 to January 2007, Mr Morgan was employed as a lawyer by top tier firm, Mallesons Stephen Jaques, where he reached the position of senior associate in the litigation group.  During this period he spent one year in London where he worked for the Directors Disqualification Unit of the Insolvency Service and the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants.  While in London he was admitted as a solicitor in the Supreme Court of England and Wales.

Mr Morgan has been involved in high profile and complex commercial litigation including the Federal Court Proceedings between Brisbane Airport Corporation, the Brisbane City Council and Westfield in respect of development at the Brisbane Airport, including the construction of the Direct Factory Outlet.

Additionally he has had extensive experience in planning and environment court litigation.  Mr Morgan acted on behalf of Woolworths Ltd in a suite of litigation matters in the planning and environment court between Woolworths Ltd and rival retailers.  This litigation included submitter appeals and conditions appeals in the Planning and Environment Court and appeals from decisions in these matters to the Court of Appeal of the Supreme Court of Queensland.  These proceedings involved the issue of the lawfulness of retail uses under several town planning schemes.

Mr Morgan successfully commenced Morgan Lawyers in January 2007 in order to offer personalized and specialised litigation and dispute resolution services without the constraints of inflexible time cost charging practices.

In July 2008 Mr Morgan and Paul Lynch of Lynch & Company Solicitors (established in 1988) established Lynch Morgan Lawyers.
